The Spread Goodness® Challenge is a K-8 educational web application designed to cultivate kindness, empathy, and social-emotional growth through real-world action.

Our mission is to uplift the vibration of the planet through acts of human kindness and generosity of spirit. We are preparing to launch and are seeking a highly skilled Web-App Developer who can help us move from pilot to market readiness with speed, precision, and creativity.

This role requires both hands-on coding and strategic technical leadership. You will work closely with the Founder, Current Lead and Student Developers, and prospective school clients to rapidly iterate, implement customizations, and ensure timely delivery of features.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate directly with the Founder on feature prioritization, sprint planning, and feasibility of implementation.
• Work closely with our current Lead Developer to understand and expand upon the current codebase.
• Rapidly implement client-requested customizations and modifications to support school pilot programs.
• Merge PRs and provide code reviews with attention to scalability and maintainability.
• Take on advanced development tasks while mentoring/supporting junior developers as needed.
• Attend local client meetings (if local) to capture feedback, translate it into technical requirements, and deliver timely solutions.
• Evaluate our current architecture and identify what’s needed for successful go-to-market execution.
• Provide recommendations on PaaS/BaaS platforms beyond Firebase (Heroku, AWS, Azure, etc.) for scalability and resilience.

Technical Skills & Experience




Languages & Frameworks:

• Proficient in JavaScript with plans to port to TypeScript.
• Strong with React and modern frontend stack:
• Tailwind CSS (styling)
• Zustand (state management)
• React Query (data caching)
• Framer Motion / Motion (animations)

Backend / Cloud Services:

• Deep familiarity with Firebase (auth, Firestore, storage, hosting).
• Experience integrating with AWS SES and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of other PaaS/BaaS options (Heroku, Azure, AWS) is a strong plus.

Codebase Architecture (familiarity preferred):

• Modular React/JSX components and feature-based structure.
• Firebase service wrappers, hooks, and utility abstractions.
• Admin dashboard with TypeScript entry point, modular services, and caching helpers.
• Database schemas covering users, schools, classrooms, posts, reports, and journals.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with educational apps, edtech, or school-facing products.
• Ability to balance speed (quick turnaround for client pilots) with quality (scalable, maintainable architecture).
